Personal View~

Hello again, it’s really nice to see you.

I used to think that two people deeply committed to each other could withstand just about any sort of chaos life gives them. I thought their love would get them through. Now I see that nothing is for sure except for life and death. Breathing, eating and sleeping are truths of life. People staying together isn’t always one of them.

Lately life has handed some chaos my way. Something affecting me, my partner, and our children. I felt sure things would be okay, sorted through, worked out, and still connected through everything we were going through.

What I found out in the end is, there are no guarantees. My Hubby and I are still connected as we go through this chaos. That isn’t to say there weren’t times we both wondered if that were still true or not. We both felt each of our views were valid and somehow, the other person had to understand that. Finding the middle ground is saying, “I understand your side. I’d like you to understand mine. Lets find out how to keep US intact as we go through this.”

Looking back now, I can see where I’ve seen shows just like this. People so in love you’d think they’d be together forever. Yet something happens and it creates views so far apart that there is no fixing the break in connectedness.

Some people don’t make it through the chaos in one piece. Some people do. The best we can hope for is to continue to hold to our truth and trust there are better days ahead. This is how I try to live.

The Sides of Self~

I wrote the following to a friend just now…

The walking between the worlds thing. I feel like that alot. Sometimes it really bothers me, sometimes I simply voice the kind of talk needed for whatever side I’m on in any given moment, sometimes I can be all of me in the presence of another person. Those times are exceptional! <giggles>

At first I thought there was all to that thought. Then I looked at it more and discovered something. It is okay if very few people know all of my sides. There are very few people I know all the sides of. Actually, I don’t think there’s anyone I know all the sides of.

I think the point of communication is to relate with each conversation each time you have one. Find something you can contribute of yourself, even if it’s a simple compliment. If there isn’t anything to contribute, being polite will do.

And, no matter which conversation you’re on, be true to yourself. It says alot of you…to you…and that’s what makes all the difference on your journey.

Living Today, Each Day~

It doesn’t matter if you believe you’ve come here before in another life or if you think this is the only life given to you. It doesn’t much matter if you have only days left to live or a whole lifetime ahead of you. Living your life as though it means something is what matters. Choosing your words and actions means you’re creating your life “on purpose”. You’re not just flowing because you’re on the “conveyer belt” of life. You’re moving in a direction because it’s the direction you know needs to be taken.

The first thing you should do is learn to be aware of your world. Start understanding how your words affect those around you. How your actions can be a choice, especially your reactions. How it feels to be genuine with yourself and others, there’s a depth there that can’t be faked. Genuineness has such clarity it practically sings.

In order to find your way to your genuineness, you’ve got to become alert to the things you do, say, and react to. Everything matters.

Just as surely as you breathe, you’re creating your world. While some things are beyond your control, most of life really is how you live it. Your view has a great deal to do with who you are and what you get out of life.

What I hope to do with this newsletter is help you to see your view, decide if something needs changing, and encouraging you to make those changes.

Life is waiting for you to create it. To create with your words, actions, and feelings. To create it in such a way that allows you to live the best life possible. To have joy, happiness, and peace…daily. To breathe and take in the world around you…not just to keep a body alive.

To become…better…to…yourself…starting today.

What are you giving and why are you giving it?

The thought today is, “What are you giving and why are you giving it?”

With the holidays all around us, we sometimes get caught up in the “make sure you give a gift” cycle. Take the time to make sure you’re giving the gifts because you sincerely want to give them. And, as a bonus, make sure it’s a gift the person would like to get.

It doesn’t matter how big the gift is…or even how small. What matters, really matters, is that the person getting the gift feels as if you know them on some level. That their joy is important to you.

Some of these people you  may see on a daily basis…some, once a year. The frequency isn’t what is key in your gift. What is key is the thought and feeling behind what you give and why you give it.

Take the time to give something because it gives the person joy….

Signs in Life~

Signs…

Some of us go through life looking for signs, asking for them, on the lookout like we were waiting for the pizza delivery guy, lol. Knowing, once he got there, part of your life would make sense. We all look for it to make sense. The more sense it makes, the better we feel.

Sometimes, the signs are the absence of direction. Sometimes, the signs are to stay put and wait. I’ll admit, that’s not one of my favorites. It’s sometimes hard to wait, knowing change is about to happen, hoping for some clue that makes it easier.

As I go through some things right now…my sign is to wait. For awhile there, I was fussing about that. I wanted answers and I wanted them fast, quick, and clear! I didn’t get them the way I had in mind. I finally quit fussing long enough to realize that my answer is to relax and wait. It is an answer. It’s a valid answer. And, it’s the right answer.

So, I’m in a better frame of mind and know that things are exactly as they should be. I’m getting my signs…they require me to wait. I’m waiting…enjoying my life…counting the blessings I have around me…being thankful for all the goodness I have today.

Keep an eye out for the signs and remember sometimes those signs are “relax and wait”.

What is your Vision~

Lately, the word “vision” has been coming to mind. What do I desire to create for myself? What is the kind of future I’d like to see, show people, and become? What is it that I’d be happy to share, show, and grow? I think we should all take a moment to create a vision for ourselves once in awhile…either make sure we’re still holding to the one that we truly are creating or to see if there’s something out there calling to us to become. Some truth we’re ignoring, some path we long to take, but keep avoiding for fears, some wonderfulness that, if we’re honest with ourselves, we’re good at and it makes a difference to those we touch….

So, I ask you today, and even ask myself, what vision do I hold of myself? What kind of picture do I want the world to see? What would bring me joy every day of my life? Create that vision, right now, today, and start working yourself toward it. I’ll do the same. Life will be lived in full from here on out!

Entitled as a word~

Entitled as a word~

I saw this word on a painting the other day…entitled, even looked it up. One definition says, “you have a right to claim something”. I thought about this word for awhile. We are all entitled to the life we create for ourselves. If we expect the best and give the best, we are entitled to the goodness that comes from that. If we give poorly and are being shoddy with how we tend to others, we are entitled to the results of that.

What kind of life would you live if you knew that you were entitled to the results of your actions? What kind of life would you live if you claimed goodness, respect, integrity, compassion? Life is what you make it!

The Timing of Things~

Two things happened recently to remind me about the flow of time. I’d like to share them with you. A few days ago, I had in mind to get my new tires put on my jeep. I set out with that goal on a Saturday morning. In the meantime, other people called to request parts of my day…a birthday party…an evening dinner. We made plans with all of it as it felt like the right thing to do.

As the morning went along though, I was feeling rushed to do things. I kept trying to figure out, “when would relaxation fit into the day”. At some point, I realized that relaxation was waiting for me the whole time. That I could choose to relax as I ran the errands, visited with friends and made the most of the day as it progressed. Once I realized this, my whole outlook changed and relaxation enjoyed the day with me! This allowed the day to become enjoyable on so many levels and ended up being one of my best days recently! I highly recommend choosing a better feeling to have in your day, even if you happen to have lots of things to do. That feeling is what will carry you.

The other thing happened yesterday. I went back to my old town to run some errands and had it in mind to visit a friend. The errands, through various happenings and situations, ended up being changed around from what I had in mind…some of them even getting pushed to another day. I said, “okay, this is how things are going…I’ll make sure the main things get done and continue on”. Because I went with the flow of the changes, I was able to visit my friend as she happened to be in a public place, going between her priorities of the day. Had I kept to the schedule I had in mind, had things flowed in the order I tried to put them, or even had I given up on the errands all together… I wouldn’t have gotten to see my friend. It was that small of a window of a blessing. It was also, unknowingly by me, perfectly co-ordinated into my day. Going with the flow, even when it doesn’t seem like it’s flowing, allows opportunities to show up, for priorities to be met, and blessings to be bestowed.

Living Life

We sometimes go through life in a bit of routine. We think the routine is a bit of a comfort…or maybe even a rut. Either way, we get used to that rut and continue to live in it…going from day to day.

Today is a new day. It’s a day that needs something deeper than “routine” has to offer. It’s a day to try something new, reach out to someone you don’t know, say what’s in your heart, paying attention to the person taking your order…. Do something outside of your usual pattern and notice what a difference it makes.

Do this regularly so that you’re “stirring the pot of your life” and not always waiting for your life to happen. Create life, change things around, be the person you really desire to be.

There is no time like the present to become YOU!
